kick ass: funny movie. it does not go beyond being funny and being too exaggerated with the superhero stuff especially on the role of nicolas cage.

nowhere boy: i loved this movie. the whole feeling of the 50's really well portrayed and definitely a good performance of aaron johnson which i could not get from the kick ass movie, i must admit i fell in love with this actor. and of course it is definitely interesting to see the beginning of the big legend that john lennon is and to see how the beatles began. i must confess i did not know anything about his life, especially that he was a big elvis fan and i definitely did not know that the beatles firstly had a band called the quarrymen before ringo became part of the group.

role models: stupid, lame movie.

nowhere: the most psychotic movie i have ever seen, but i love how it was filmed and it gets you into the 90's mood. although it is a fucked up plot (if you can call it plot), especially considering the alien that is always going around i think it is an impressive movie in terms of portraying the generation and the drug consumption and actions that are inherent to it. without any doubt the reference to religion and television as means of manipulation is one of my favourite things in the movie. but definitely the best thing is how it is filmed, the scenes and the scenarios, especially when two of the characters are standing in their own rooms, surely my favourite part. although the quality is not even close to “requiem for a dream”, it really was the only movie i could connect it with.

a lot like love: although it is a romcom which from time to time i need it, i think it is a good plot and it keeps it interesting until the end. of course that i decided to watch because of the scene that i saw on the trailer on the year that it came out, when amanda peet just turns around and goes against the glass.

fired up: lame, teenager movie.

kiss kiss bang bang: the plot is interesting, robert downey jr. in a funny and interesting performance. i love that it is one of those funny cop mob movies but it is interesting without the a thousand clichés that you always see in this kind of movies. it was funny seeing val kilmer in a movie that is not so serious, although i must say i cannot forget his performance on the doors movie, which is one of my favourite and it is just the role of his life.

i heart huckabees: well this movie i must say it reminds me in several ways the movies of michel gondry (“eternal sunshine of the spotless mind” and “la science des rêves”). not only the mood and filming is really close to his way of filming but also the theme and the plot, although in this case david o'russel adds a funny layer to the movie that softens the complexity of the movie. i think it is a very interesting movie, especially when its cast involves the amazing jason schwartzman, jude law, dustion hoffman and mark wahlberg. i would number this one as the second best of this list, right after the nowhere boy.

what happens in vegas: funny, simple romcom movie.

the break up: funny and simple romcom movie, buuuut at least it does not have the famous happy endings that you always expect to come out from this movies.

Ils se marièrent et eurent beaucoup d'enfants: this is a very interesting movie, not only because it has one of the best actresses from the movie industry – charlotte gainsburg – but also it came to as a surprise the perfomance of yvan attal. I love the thematic of the movie, which is centered in love and cheating and the monogamy that is related to it, but mostly the concept of marriage and different positions in to it, not only by difference of gender but also by each person priorities and needs. Despite that, i was really disappointed by the lack of presence of johnny depp's character, especially when he only appears in two scenes and it is one of the strongest elements in the movie. this is observable by the intensity of his first scene on the movie which is breath taking and that i have posted here before.

management: shitty movie.

go: i was really impressed with this movie, by its cover and description you expect some stupid drug dealing with stupid kids involved an trying to be funny movie. But i think it goes beyond that and even the footage it reminds you of an independent movie feeling. I must say that since i say the film “nowhere” in the same day it really seemed to me that it was the modern version of it, not so alternative and daring but more adapted to the general public but still with the same background and inspiration. Also it is weird to see Katie holmes in this kind of movie, although her presence is not as relevant as you would expected it to be.
